Law360 (Link to Full Article) Senior intellectual property partners are able to command rates nearly 50 percent higher than their junior counterparts do, highlighting the complexity of top IP matters and the premium clients are willing to pay for seasoned attorneys, according to a joint survey by Law360 and BTI Consulting Group Inc.

For the Billing Rate Reference 2014, roughly 1,100 law firm attorneys and corporate counsel were surveyed about hourly billing rates charged by law firms across several leading practice areas, including IP, finding that corporate counsel pay senior IP partners on average $660 per hour while paying partners an average of only $443 per hour.
